chocolate is my best friend

So today something horrible happened. I craved chocolate. Don't panic, that isn't the horrible part. The horrible part is that there wasn't any chocolate in the house. (insert tears, tantrums and groans of agonizing pain here) My solution? Make brownies! And not just any brownies, my famous brownies. (Okay, they aren't really famous, they are just really good. And I don't say that because I am a good cook, I say that because they are really hard to mess up.) Anyway. Moving on.

So I decided that I should post the recipe here, in case any of you were experiencing a craving-chocolate-when-there-is-no-chocolate-to-be-found-in-the-house. Enjoy!

Mix together:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Add:
3/4 cup butter, melted (I use about half coconut oil)
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Mix until you have a lovely, smooth, yummy, chocolate mixture. Spread evenly in a lightly greased 13x9 pan. Bake for about 20-25 minutes at 350F. I generally bake it for 20 minutes, but depending on your oven you may have to a little longer, or a little shorter. The secret is to bake them till they are just barely done. This makes sure that they don't dry out. Let them cool a little bit, and then cut them and watch as they disappear!
