Armed Forces Day and Flower Pot Pudding

First off, since it is Armed Forces Day, I would like to say a great big huge thank you to all our military personnel past, present, and future. Thank you for all your sacrifices; for the ones that we know about and the ones we will never hear of. To my big brother, you are my hero. I know you aren't a Marine yet, but you will be very soon. Thank you for your willingness to serve. I am so incredibly proud of you.

Now, on a little bit lighter of a note, here are couple of the pictures I have taken in the past three days.
Wednesday was pretty relaxing. In the morning I went for a long, rambling walk along the railroad track. It was just what the doctor ordered for me to de-stress a little bit.

Random fact: I love taking animal pictures.

Daniel was pretty proud of himself for putting that barn on his tractor. I quickly took a picture and then told him to take it off :)

We have been having quite a bit of rain and some thunder showers, and this was the sky after one such storm. (In case you are wondering, that is the clothesline that the raindrop is clinging to.)

The sun actually came out yesterday to dry some laundry for us!

Making Flower Pot Pudding with Aunt Marcy.

Daniel was more interested in watching tractor videos than helping make the pudding, however, he had no problem with eating it!

That's all for now folks......have a wonderful day, and don't forget to thank our service men and women (today and every day).

every storm runs out of rain

Mother's Day with my beautiful cousin and her kids.

Daniel wasn't so sure about having his picture taken.

Despite the nuisance that dandelions are, they really are beautiful.

 A farmer and his chickens.

I went out with they guys to take pictures while they changed irrigation. It is so gorgeous here!

Trying to change pipe one-handed.....

Just waiting for Julie Andrews to come over the top of that hill singing "The Hills Are Alive".

 My cousin's niece...isn't she beautiful?

The sight that greeted me after a huge thunder storm.

Every storm runs, runs out of rain
Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

living life

Sometimes it feels like I am waiting for my life to start. It feels like once I graduate from college, or get married, my life will really begin.

But I realized something the other day. My life started over 18 years ago. And I need to start living like it. I don't want to just sit around and wait for something to happen, I want to go out and make something happen.

I want to live like there's no tomorrow and love like I'm on borrowed time.

I think this realization came about because of my graduation. I have stepped into a new chapter of my life and while that is exciting, it is also scary. Because now I am an adult, making (for the most part) my own decisions. And in case you haven't experienced it yet, or have forgotten, I am here to tell you that growing up is scary.

I don't want to have any regrets when I'm an old woman. I want to live my life to the very fullest extent that I can. I don't want to be so busy making a life for myself or dreaming about things that will probably never happen that time passes by without me noticing.

Every day that I wake, every breath that I take you've given
So right here, right now
While the sun is shining down
I wanna live like there's no tomorrow
Love like I'm on borrowed time
It's good to be alive

my new camera and the pictures that have come from it

So I got a new camera the other day, and I'm having great fun taking pictures of almost everything and everyone I come into contact with. Here are a few of my best shots.
