A few years back, one of my friends started mentioning this one guy a little bit more. But it was always in reference to something that happened at church, and was always carefully worded so as to make the listener think it was an everyday occurrence for this girl to talk about guys. Her friends knew better, however. This guy was somebody special, and we could all see it. I was lucky enough to have known the man for several years prior, back when he helped out at the youth group I was attending. Even if Kathryn hadn't have gone on and on about the merits of this guy, I would have known how awesome he was and how really perfect they were for each other!

Pre-Bachelorette
Super fun + awesome session with some crazy ladies before they went out and celebrated the beautiful lady in white getting hitched!
❤
The W Family
This crazy bunch asked me to take some family photos a few summers ago, and I was more than happy to say yes! I have the privilege of being related to them almost *twice* through marriage. Back in December of 2014, my big brother (the one in the white cowboy hat...oh wait, that's not very helpful! the one on the far right in the white cowboy hat) married that lovely lady he's holding onto, and they now have the CUTEST little boy in the whole entire world. (Nope, not biased at all.) And then you see that beautiful lady smack dab in the middle? She and my baby cousin (alright, he's not so much of a baby anymore but I am trying not to think about that) have been crushing on each other for yeeeaaarrrsss and they are finally tying the knot this summer! Really thankful and blessed for these people and the way they became my second family.
2015? Or 1915? You decide.
❤
Miss Lindsey
A few years ago, one of my good friends from school came down and spent a weekend at my parents farm. One gorgeous evening we dressed up and ran around down to the woods, climbing trees and making wishes and taking pictures. So thankful for this lady + her friendship + and the memories we made that I was able to capture on camera!

I'm Back!!
As you might have noticed, I've taken a bit of a break on here. (Last post was two years ago...yikes!)
But now I'm back!
And with more exciting stuff and awesome photo sessions than ever before!! Previously, this blog was part personal, part business. But from here on out, it's going to be geared more toward my business. I will most likely still post the occasional personal post, but 99% is going to be photos of super cute babies and stunning couples!
Make sure to subscribe and follow my Facebook page so you can stay updated on current news, events, giveaways, and cute babies!
Thanks for being a part of this crazy ride!

my kind of transformation tuesday
Sometimes I like to look back at the pictures I took a year or so ago, when my business was in the really, really, REALLY early stages. Most of the time I avoid seeing those pictures, though, since I get a little bit sad that I didn't do as good a job then as I could do now. But every once in awhile, I get the opportunity to photograph someone a second time, months (or a year) after their first session. This is what happened with both a friend of mine who let me take some portraits of her, and a couple who had both their engagement photos and their weddings photos done by me.
I have a quote from Ansel Adams sitting in a picture frame on my desk which says, "You don't take a photograph, you make it." The difference between the session A photos and the session B photos isn't the subject...it's me. I have changed and grown and figured out how to MAKE a photograph and not just TAKE a picture.
So there you have it. My kind of transformation Tuesday.
And today, I am going to show you a few photos from their first session and then a few from the most recent session.
A+L Session A (Jan 2014):
A+ L Session B (Nov 2014):
L Session A (May 2014):
L Session B (May 2015):
